KST Spends International Mandela Day at Phirihadi Primary School

In celebrating International Nelson Mandela Day and Tata Madiba’s 100-year centenary, Kagiso Shanduka Trust (KST) and Fezile Dabi district office of the Free State Department of Education (FSDoE) spent time at the Phirihadi Primary School in Heilbron, which is one of the KST schools where the District Whole School Development Programme is being implemented.

Learners face many socio-economic challenges that often has an impact on their performance.  A lot is being done to alleviate these challenges in many schools in rural and township areas. However, some learners are not as fortunate as to have full school uniform. KST therefore contributed R10,000.00 worth of vouchers towards the purchasing of tracksuits, school shoes, jerseys, shirts and tunics to 20 learners at Phirihadi Primary School.

“Our District Whole School Development programme provides holistic intervention in our schools in Fezile Dabi and Motheo districts, and therefore as the KST Fezile Dabi office we wanted to go the extra mile this Mandela Day by giving school uniform vouchers as well as cleaning windows as part of the school beautification.” said Nathan Pillay KST Fezile Dabi District Manager.
